Francois Pralus
Chocolatier, Francois Pralus Maitre Chocolatier
The brand of real bean-to-bar chocolate with an infusion of French tradition of chocolate making was launched by Auguste Pralus and opened it’s first shop in Roanne in 1948.
HC: How would you describe Pralus?
FP: Tasty chocolate based on French aesthetics and sensibilities, all made in France. We’re committed to making high-quality chocolate.
HC: Is “Made in France” an important marker?
FP: I think so. I want to protect French métier [craftsmanship]. I’ve been making chocolate for decades and even in that time things have changed and a lot of chocolate makers have closed. Once you lose them you can’t get them back.
HC: Where do you sell?
FP: In Singapore in Hello Chocolate kiosk on Pedder on Scotts and in your online store. We are big in Japan and we’ve looking to expand sales in other Asian countries in the future.
