Chumphon is considered the gateway to Southern Thailand and home to the Chumphon Horticultural Research Center, responsible for growing Robusta Coffee production and the famous Lady-Finger Banana.
The centre has been playing a key role in cacao research since the 1970s and farms from that era still thrive! This cacao is grown, fermented and dried in Chumphon.
