This bar is a result of Kjartan Gíslason and Óskar Þórðarson -founders of Omnon Chocolate - visit of Nicaragua’s amazing cocoa plantations where they met local farmers and discovered how they produce their cocoa. Invitingly referred to as "the land of lakes and volcanoes", Nicaragua has a reputation for growing some of the world's finest cacao. From the first sample of cocoa beans from Nicaragua, they were intrigued. They tested 6 distinct varieties of cacao native to the wild rainforests and chose the one that stood out the most. The diversity of the area translates to complexity and depth of flavour in the bean, and further to this bar.
